Questions hunters ask

Straight answers for the meat pole.

How much meat will I get from my deer?

Enter the field-dressed and take-home weights and Antlr works out your yield and cost per pound, deer by deer and for the season. For a sense of normal: when Ohio’s Division of Wildlife butchered and weighed 115 deer in 2017, boneless venison came to about 48.5% of field-dressed weight, for bucks and does alike. (Checked Sep 19, 2026.)

How do I keep track of what’s in the freezer?

Add packages by cut and weight when you pick up from the processor. Oldest first, one tap when you use one, across every freezer.

Where do I get my deer tested for CWD?

Your state agency’s rules and sampling sites, dated and linked. Log the sample, and the freezer marks that deer’s meat until the result is in.

Where can I donate venison?

Programs in your state, with their rules and participating processors from each program’s own page. Log what you shared and donated.
